The Area

The house is situated in the West of Brittany in the hamlet of Cleuziou Meur in the region of Finistere. It is 3 miles from the market town of Pleyben and right on the edge of the Parc Regional D'Armorique. The landscape is reminiscent of Cornwall or Devon with gently rolling hills interspersed with Dartmoor like Mooreland. The coastline like Cornwall has wonderful sandy beaches and dramatic rocky sections with small bays and isolated fishing villages. Quimper is 20 miles to the south, Brest is 30 miles to the north and Chateaulin is 9 miles to the west.

Weather
The Brittany weather benefits from being some 200 miles south of Cornwall. In general the weather is dryer and warmer than the English south coast and is often much better. The graph below indicates the average temperature and daily hours of sunshine.
